Privacy policy

When you sign in with Google

Your name, email address, profile picture, and the Google account identifier. We request only the basic email and profile permissions. We never ask for access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service.

When you sign in with your mobile number

Your 10-digit mobile number, and a one-time code we text you. The code itself is stored only as an irreversible hash, never in readable form, and is discarded once used or expired.

What you type into the registration form

First and last name, the course and batch year you studied, where you currently practise, your city and PIN code, and, if you choose to add them, a profile photo, a short note on your notable accomplishments, links to your LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook profile, and the school or college your children attend - just the institution name, never their name, age, or gender.

When you invite a colleague

The email address or mobile number you send an invite to, and whether it went through, kept as a short log so the same contact isn’t invited repeatedly, and so we can tell you it was delivered.

There is no advertising, retargeting, or profiling on this site, and nothing is shared with data brokers.

• To identify you as an SRMC alumnus or faculty member and keep your entry accurate.
• To let other members find their batch and department, and connect with each other.
• To let a fellow alumnus who is also a parent find you through a shared school or college, without either of you sharing anything about the child themselves.
• To send an invite you ask us to send, on your behalf, to someone you name.

We do not use your information for anything else, and we never sell it or share it for marketing.

Any signed-in member can browse the directory by course and batch year, and see another member’s name, course and batch year, whether they currently teach or work at SRMC, where they practise, their profile photo, any notable accomplishments, any LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook link they’ve chosen to add, and the school or college any of their children attend, if they’ve added one. This is so alumni can find and reach out to each other, including finding out where a fellow alumnus practises if a relative needs care there, or connecting with another parent at their child’s school. Anything you type into “where you practise” or your children’s schools may also be shown as a suggested option to other members filling in the same fields, to keep entries consistently spelled.

Your email address, mobile number, and home address and PIN code are never shown to other members; those are visible only to the organisers.

Services that run the site

Google handles sign-in if you choose it, and Google Analytics gives us aggregate, anonymised usage statistics for the site. MSG91 sends the SMS code and any SMS invite, and therefore receives the relevant mobile number. Resend sends email invites and therefore receives the relevant email address. Neon hosts the database, Vercel hosts the site and stores any profile photo or event image you upload (a profile photo is kept in a private store, never reachable by a plain public URL - only through a signed-in request on this site). These providers process the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

The database is hosted outside India, on infrastructure located in the United States.

Information received from Google APIs is used solely to sign you in and to maintain your membership entry, as described above. It is not transferred to anyone except the service providers listed here, and it is not used for advertising, sold, or used to build any profile beyond what’s described in this policy.

One essential cookie keeps you signed in, and is removed when you sign out. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors from new ones and to measure how the site is used; it does not carry your name, email, or mobile number, and is not used for advertising or retargeting. There are no advertising cookies on this site.

This is a standing platform, not a one-weekend site; there is no fixed shutdown date. We keep your entry for as long as you remain a member, and delete it promptly if you ask us to.

• You can correct anything you have entered at any time from Your profile.
• You can ask us to delete your registration entirely, or to send you a copy of what we hold, by emailing the address below. We will do it promptly.
• You can withdraw Google’s access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

This site is for alumni, faculty, and students of SRMC. It is not intended for anyone under 18. If you choose to add where your children study, that is information you provide about yourself as a parent - we do not collect your child’s name, age, gender, or any other detail that identifies them directly, and the field is entirely optional.
